The Positive Parenting approach stems from Recommendation Rec (2006) 19 of the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe to member states on policies to support positive parenting.  Positive Parenting is an integrative approach that allows reflection on the family in today's society and its important role in the protection of children's rights, while developing practical recommendations on how to articulate support for families in the professional sphere. Its growing impact on family policies in Spain has been possible thanks to a collaboration scheme between the Ministry of Social Rights and Agenda 2030 and the Spanish Federation of Municipalities and Provinces with the support of a group of experts from seven Spanish universities. The current focus of this collaboration is on increasing quality assurance in the care provided to children, adolescents and families. This symposium echoes this by presenting several contributions that report on the progress made in the development of evidence-based best practice guidelines and the interprofessional competencies required to carry them out. For this purpose, in addition to the description of these guides, empirical studies are presented which show the progress in quality assurance, both in social services and entities as well as in psychoeducational and community family support programs implemented in Spain, as well as the future challenges to be addressed.
