High intellectual ability (HIA) is a differential manifestation of human intelligence, of a genetic and environmental nature, multidimensional, mouldable and dynamic, whose key concept today revolves around the expression and development of high potential. It is a diy capacity in development, the result of the covariation between endogenous and exogenous modulating factors, which modulate and differentiate the high potential (predictor factor), conditioning its expression.

The aim of the symposium is to present 5 papers, from a neuroconstructive framework within the new paradigm of High Intellectual Ability, based on the results of ongoing empirical studies on endogenous modulatory factors of ICA expression. The first paper deals with comparative evidence (schoolchildren with ICI vs. schoolchildren with average intelligence) on the regulation of intellectual resources of cognitive functioning; the second paper provides a new instrument and results on figurative language in schoolchildren with ICI with diagnostic implications; the third paper provides comparative results on the organisation of information preferences between adolescents with ICA and typical adolescents; the fourth paper shows preliminary comparative results (schoolchildren and adolescents with ICA vs. schoolchildren and adolescents of average intelligence) on intellectual competences and cyberbullying behaviours; finally, the fifth paper addresses results on personality traits in adolescents with ICA.
